The Sweet Death Story directed by Peyman Khazani, The Karamazov Brothers hosted by the Master Samandarian Hall, the unveiling of the “You Way” poster, and the presale of Diphenhydramine are among the most important news in today’s theater.
According to Cinemadrame, from the public relations of Iran Shahr Theater, the play The Karamazov Brothers, directed by Ashkan Khailnejad and based on Fyodor Dostoevsky’s novel, will soon begin performances at the Master Samandarian Hall.
The Karamazov Brothers is the final work of the great Russian writer Fyodor Dostoevsky, a novel that Dostoevsky spent the last three years of his life writing. The novel was completed in 1880, and if the author had not passed away, he intended to continue its story. Many believe that this novel is Dostoevsky’s greatest work.

Ashkan Khailnejad, along with Yousef Bapiri, Hootan Shakiba, Navid Mohammadzadeh, and Arman Kochaki, is a member of the “New Theater Group”, which has directed works such as “Finally, Whose Life Is This?”, “Whispers Behind the Front Line”, “The Third Curtain; The Fourth Scene”, and “Sons of History”.
Currently, the play The Karamazov Brothers is in its final rehearsal stages, and soon details about the group and performance schedule will be released.
Peyman Khazani to Stage “The Sweet Death Story”
Peyman Khazani, in his latest endeavor, will stage “The Sweet Death Story” in collaboration with the Boston Experimental Theater.
“The Sweet Death Story” is a project produced by Vahdat Yeganeh and continues Khazani’s efforts to explore the existential dimensions of humanity through the lens of Iranian mythology and contemporary art.
Themes such as death, love, and the transcendent power of art are addressed in “The Sweet Death Story”, which will be presented as a multimedia project, including cinema-theater production, theater-concert performance, and an audio version.
“Majnun Aan Leyli” and “Leila-ye Bi-Majnoun”, two works designed, directed, and composed by Peyman Khazani, were innovative adaptations of Nizami Ganjavi’s works and had 100 performances this year.
Khazani holds degrees in anthropology and music composition. As a composer, he has collaborated with renowned singers such as Alireza Ghorbani, Mohsen Keramati, Sina Sarlak, Salar Aghili, Ali Zand Vakili, Hojat Ashrafzadeh, Meysam Akbari, and Hossein Alishapour.
Khazani, along with the Basha music group, represented Iranian music at the UNESCO celebration held in India in 2016 for Nowruz.
“Adam” at Shahrzad Theater Complex
The play Adam, written by Mohammadreza Alai, produced by Siavash Moieni, and directed by Mohammadreza Alai, will be performed at the Shahrzad Theater Complex.
The play will run from December 24, 2023, to January 25, 2024, at the Shahrzad Theater Complex.
Adam tells the story of a family with boundless ambition in pursuit of their dreams, but the rough path of life leads them further from their destination.

In the director’s note for the play Adam, it is written:
“We have written for the void, yes, for the void.
To find the meaning of silence and the indifference of nature.
For the roads traveled, but not in the unconscious.
On the roads of the massacre of breath, the massacre of philosophy, and acceptance…
Our empty vessels are not signs of being worthless!
Our empty hands are our possession.
A space to be filled with whatever is valuable.
Adam is the capacity to accept values.”
The cast of this play includes: Roozbeh Akhtari, Mojtaba Vashiyan, Sepehr Mahmoodi, Abolfazl Vaziri, Sareh Rashidi, and Tahereh Bahrami Nahadfar.
“Death at the Dog Hour” at Workshop Theater
Hossein Fallah, actor and theater director, is set to stage “Death at the Dog Hour”, written by Fars Baghery, at the Workshop Theater in the City Theater Complex soon.

This artist, who began his career on stage in 1994, is returning to the theater after a 6-year break with a play written by Fars Baghery, a playwright and theater instructor.
Fallah has previously performed in various productions such as “Engagement”, “Mr. Mississippi’s Marriage”, “Moon and Mehr”, “The Unburied Dead”, “Night”, “A Woman Behind the Door”, “Clean Air”, “The Flies”, “Canned Life”, and “Please” and has directed plays such as “Hassan Kachal’s Midnight Dream” and “Once Upon a Time”.

Nahid Mosallami to Unveil “You Way” Poster
A ceremony for the Night Light and unveiling of the poster for the play “You Way” will take place at the Sanglaj Theater with the presence of Nahid Mosallami, the renowned actress of cinema, theater, and television.
Nahid Mosallami will reveal the poster of “You Way”, directed by Reza Bahrami, featuring artwork by Bahram Shadanfar.
“You Way”, written by Jafar Gholampour and based on a design by Masoud Torabi, will begin performances on Monday, December 23, at 18:00.
The cast of the play includes: Amin Akbarinasab, Ronak Barkhordar, Kazem Barzegar, Hassan Tadini, Sama Zarei, Tadayi Saeedi, Saman Karami (guest from the Morvarid Theater group), Faiza Nasrollahpour, Golara Moghadam, Farshad Mahdizadeh, and Nesa Yousefi, listed alphabetically.
Artaban Ansarifar and Hamin Akbarinasab will also perform as young actors in the play.
“You Way” is an Iranian comedy that portrays the waiting of a family after the death of the father for the division of inheritance and legacy, a waiting that will not unfold as expected with the arrival of a small traveler.

Along with the unveiling of the poster, pre-sales for the first three days of “Diphenhydramine” have started on the Tiwall website and at the theater box office.
“Diphenhydramine”, written and directed by Alireza Maroufi, will be performed from January 7 to 27, 2024, at 18:00 in the Qashqai Hall of the City Theater Complex.
The pre-sale for tickets started concurrently with the release of the play’s poster.
The synopsis of “Diphenhydramine” reads: “Siavash has returned after seven years, but he cannot eat. His mother is desperately trying to feed him, but Siavash refuses to eat under any circumstances. A great battle ensues between Siavash and his mother over whether he will eat or not.”

He censures his own life, but the actors portray it correctly, revealing truths about his life and the people around him…
