The re-release of two books by Shahrokh Meskoob

According to cinemadrame, “The Mourning of Siyavash” and “The Legends of Tabai,” two works by Shahrokh Meskoob, have been reissued with new cover designs and a change of publisher by Gostareh Publications. Both books are among Meskoob’s early works, which were previously published for years by Kharazmi Publications.
“The Mourning of Siyavash” (On Death and Resurrection) was first published in 1971 and has since become one of Meskoob’s most popular books. To this day, it remains a key work in the field of Shahnameh studies. In addition to its literary and scholarly merits, this book provides deep philosophical analyses of Iranian myths and the legendary and heroic figures of ancient Iran. The book includes the author’s introduction and three chapters: The Sunset, The Night, and The Sunrise of Siyavash and his son, Keykhosrow.
“The Mourning of Siyavash” by Shahrokh Meskoob has been published by Gostareh Publications in a print run of 1,100 copies, priced at 150,000 Toman.

“The Legends of Tabai” is one of Shahrokh Meskoob’s well-known translations, published in the 1950s and 1960s. The book is a collection of three plays by Sophocles, the ancient Greek playwright: “Oedipus the King,” “Oedipus at Colonus,” and “Antigone.” All three plays are based on the myth of the Labdacid family and depict a period in the legendary history of the royal family of the city of Thebes.
“The Legends of Tabai,” by Sophocles, translated by Shahrokh Meskoob, has been published by Gostareh Publications in a print run of 1,100 copies, priced at 250,000 Toman.
