“The Turtle and the Snail” Starring Ali Mosaffa, Receives Age Rating, Set for Release
According to cinemadrame news agency, and from the project’s media consultant, the poster for the cinematic film “The Turtle and the Snail,” directed by Reza Hamasi, has been unveiled ahead of its public screening. Written by Mohsen Rezaei and co-produced by Reza Hamasi and Hooshang Norollahi, the film is set to premiere on Wednesday, June 11th, at Art and Experience Cinema Group theaters.
This film, which is the first production of the Epic Cinema Group, has been cleared for public release with a +15 age rating, four years after the completion of its production.
“The Turtle and the Snail” presents a cinematic, multi-layered narrative of loss, the desire for liberation, and silent struggles that unfold between the silence of a child and the tumultuous world of adults.
The film has received nominations for Best Film at the 20th Dhaka International Film Festival in Bangladesh, the 14th Sofia MenaR Film Festival in Bulgaria, the Children and Youth section of the Asia Pacific Film Festival, the Pune Film Festival in India, the Meta Film Festival in UAE, and the 12th International Children’s Film Festival of India (ICFF). It also won the Special Jury Award at the Cluster First Film Festival in Switzerland.
Filming for “The Turtle and the Snail” took place in northern Tehran, offering viewers a visual experience of life in silence and unseen conflicts through a combination of simple frames, controlled lighting, and a slow rhythm.
The film’s synopsis states: Pedram, a 10-year-old boy, lives with his mother, Afsaneh, and disapproves of her decision to remarry. Amidst this struggle, Pedram’s acquaintance with a stranger leads to a hidden and mysterious relationship between them.
Ali Mosaffa, Leila Zare, Sam Nouri, Mehran Nael, and Alborz Kouroubeh (child actor) form the main cast of this project. Pantea Mehdinia, Mohammad Narimani, Hamid Kheradmandi, Zohreh Hejazi, and Ali Rastgari are the other actors in “The Turtle and the Snail.”
