Tim Burton to Make First Animated Film Since 2012

According to Cinemadrame News Agency, Tim Burton revealed in a new interview with the Mexican newspaper “Milenio” that he is making another feature-length animated film and is awaiting the script.
The 66-year-old filmmaker says: “I’m working on something as an animation project. I hope to get the script soon and move forward from there. I’m very excited about it.”
Burton did not reveal further details about the story or the film’s style, but his return to the animation genre is exciting enough for his fans. He has several animated feature films on his resume, including “Corpse Bride” and “The Nightmare Before Christmas.” His last animated film was “Frankenweenie,” released in 2012, which was a black-and-white stop-motion.
Last year, Burton returned to cinemas with “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice,” a sequel to the 1980s film “Beetlejuice,” and directed the second season of “Wednesday” for Netflix. In addition, a third “Beetlejuice” installment is under development at Warner Bros. Studio.
It was previously reported that Burton would remake “Attack of the Fifty-Foot Woman,” but he did not confirm this rumor in December.
