Tom Holland: James Bond Rumors Are Pure Speculation

According to CinemaDrame News Agency, Tom Holland has once again addressed the rumors of him succeeding Daniel Craig in the James Bond franchise during a recent YouTube interview with Gordon Ramsay. Variety previously reported that Amazon is seeking a “British actor under 30” for the role of James Bond, and currently, candidates such as Tom Holland, Harris Dickinson, and Jacob Elordi are being considered.

As filming begins on “Spider-Man: Brand New Day,” Holland commented on the speculation: “Look, there’s a bit of speculation at the moment. We’re keeping it to a minimum for now. One day, we’ll get there.”

He added: “For any young British actor, that’s just the nature of the business. Even so, I already consider myself the luckiest young man in the world. I couldn’t have imagined a better résumé than this.”

Holland previously told Variety: “As a young Brit who loves cinema, I’d love to be James Bond. So, yes, I’m interested. I look good in a suit.”

In June, Amazon MGM selected Denis Villeneuve to direct and, just last week, chose Steven Knight—creator of “Peaky Blinders”—to write “James Bond 26.” The studio had previously acquired the franchise for $1 billion from Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson, assigning production to Amy Pascal and David Heyman. Pascal has previously worked with Holland on Sony’s “Spider-Man” films.

Daniel Craig played the iconic James Bond in “Casino Royale,” “Quantum of Solace,” “Skyfall,” “Spectre,” and “No Time to Die.” Before him, actors such as Sean Connery, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, and Pierce Brosnan portrayed the character.

Holland is currently filming “The Odyssey” for Christopher Nolan and is set to reprise his role as Peter Parker in “Spider-Man.”
