Tony Lo Bianco, the actor who portrayed Sal Boca in The French Connection, passed away at the age of 87. His representative confirmed his death via a statement to Fox News, revealing that he had succumbed to prostate cancer.

Born in October 1936 to an Italian immigrant family, Lo Bianco initially pursued boxing before entering the world of acting. In 1963, he founded the Triangle Theatre.

According to cinemadrame, He made his feature film debut in 1965 with The Sex Perils of Paulette and appeared in the 1970 crime film The Honeymoon Killers. A year later, Lo Bianco played the role of Salvatore Boca alongside Gene Hackman in The French Connection, directed by William Friedkin.

From 1974 to 1976, he starred in the TV series Police Story, and in 1983, he received a Tony Award nomination for A View from the Bridge. Lo Bianco also portrayed New York Mayor Fiorello H. LaGuardia in the series Hizzoner and several other projects.
